TWO PANSIES IN MY FLORAL SKETCHBOOK

Had a lovely lazy morning reading the weekend papers after my hectic few days and decided to paint some pansies this afternoon whilst Clive watched football. About the only flowers out now in the garden, except for some late flowering shrubs, but these blooms are so tiny - like little dots in a cluster. I think for the first time in this sketchbook from a photo - I certainly was not going to sketch outdoors in these temperatures.

So I am keeping to my plan (almost last day of Nov) of getting something from the garden into my handmade sketch book every month. Wonder what will be there for December and January. I know there will be snowdrops in February.

These are so beautiful and happy. Good to see on a November day!

I'm always amazed at home much they seem to enjoy the cold. Lovely, Joan. Always a treat when you get out your floral sketchbook.

I actually meant 'how' much they seem to enjoy the cold.

SO FRESH! They look alive and vibrant - great for a dreary November. Nice work.

Thanks blogger friends. They are incredibly robust little plants and in my last home they carried on blooming all year round right through to the next summer. Have hopes again.

Im getting quite excited - I'm only 6 off 3,000 visitors since starting my blog end January. Nothing compared with the great art bloggers like Anita and Sandy, but for a straightforward little blog without thousands of attachments and links, I am delighted. MY THANKS - AND HUGS TOO - sorry not in the form of the huggables posted by Teri. (go and take a look by clicking on Teri C's name above. )

Beautiful painting. I, too, enjoy when you get your sketchbook out and share your garden with us again.

Beautiful Pansies. I love pansies - they seem to have a smiling face always.

Gorgeous pansies, which I find quite difficult to paint. Your flower paintings are beautiful.

Carol - the wet on wet technique per petal works well once you've mixed the relevant colours. You're doing well with your new blog. Just need to edit it to get rid of the big gaps.
Thanks Anita - good to hear from you - did the boys let you have five mins on the computer????

Nice to hear from you Sharon - I've left a comment on your wonderful portrait post and realise now my previous comment to you was probably in my comment in Anita's blog. !! Doesnt it get confusing??

Rhonda - I dont think there is going to be much more to sketch for the next few months and sad I missed out on the wonderful autumn leaves that fell everywhere.

Thanks for popping in Nature and Me.
