I was staying at my daughters and left Tues to go straight to life drawing session in the afternoon so decided not to take too much equipment. Thus I bought a roll of kraft paper (sold as post office wrapping paper for a £1) and boxed up some white chalk, conte stick and charcoal to put in my weekend case. These were the results. Great fun and very direct.
Sorry Claire your thigh looks remarkably large - but I think there was some perspective in this as it was nearer to me - well thats my excuse..
When we got to the last pose of the session, I was very tired so decided to simply play a little and the outcome was the hand on the thigh and a view of one of Claire's feet.

I love cheap paper for charcoal and conte too Joan, my favourite is sugar paper, the charcoal blends so smoothly on it.
These are great.
Don't make too many plans this week,put your feet up and chill out underneath that big bright orange umbrella Clive got you!

I have two giant drawings done on cheap kraft paper. I was given a eight foot wide roll of kraft paper.
I keep two large pieces for myself and gave the rest to artist friends.
I think I'll pull the drawings out and begin to play.

Anita - Wed and Thurs have flown by since I got back and have watched quite a bit of tennis so I could have my legs up on the poof. Just had a little bit of gardening and washing to catch up on though. Best thing about the kraft paper was when I went horrendously wrong with some leg drawing I just wiped it off with a soft cloth.
Robert - what an enormous sheet of kraft paper. Look forward to seeing the play results.
At first glance, I thought you had used pastels, because you were so skillful with the three colors you had.

These are very well done, Joan. I also sometimes work on a pad of Kraft paper. I found it took a little getting used to but you get some beautiful results.
Thanks for commenting Lottery girl and Casey. It was my first time with this paper and I used the matt side. As Ive got so much left of the roll, I expect I'll take it again next week. It can make one quite confident to put down strong marks as its so easy to adjust.
