ACRYLIC LOCAL COASTAL SCENES

I have been thinking ahead trying to decide what work I shall exhibit for the Christmas Show at Holt Picture Gallery. Flowers have not been that successful there of late so decided I'd conform and join the landscape artists who exhibit there. To give me a good start I've created another view of Hunstanton Beach in acrylic.

Hunstanton Beach No 2

Another acrylic I created some while back from a visit to one of the many little fishing harbours on the north coast of Norfolk. It was a wonderful sight for an artist to see how the fishermen had just dropped such wonderful colour nets together in such a glorious heap!. I took the painting out my store and decided to make some finishing touches by softening the clouds and the far distance. Also softened the blue of the near water. It gives the scene more atmosphere.

Brancaster North Norfolk

Thought I'd post these two today and, as Ive got to the 4th December to deliver, will let you know what else I plan to exhibit as and when.

Both of these are gorgeous, Joan, but that first one with the warms juxtoposed against the cools of the sky just make me wish I would paint like this!

WOW!!! I WANT the first painting! (The second is lovely as well!)

Why are we not living closer so that I could just scamper on over and see your lovely creations in person? Sigh.

I remember some gorgeous flowers you recently did for a B&B, I think. Yet, I do think these landscapes are lovely. I'd love to see the show.

Really lovely Joan, a friend of mine lived in Holt for a few years but moved to Surrey, we know the area well as I lived in Stalham before I moved to Cambridge and then to the West Midlands, have always loved that part of the coast and have many happy memories

Thanks folks for your lovely comments. All you say has given me lots of encouragement to get some more local landscapes together. So suprised the beach scene has turned out to be the favourite of the two.

Terry, we came from Dorset to Cambridge and then onto Norfolk Broads. Stalham's only a few miles from our village.

I'm also very partial to the first one - that sky is gorgeous!

Casey - amazing really I was doubtful whether the sky worked so thanks for your comment. Tried to leave comment on your website re your graphite tray drawing but seems to be a problem. Loved the sketch of your husband.
